From near and far, Mary Lou’s real estate experience combines a formidable combination of knowledge, patience and negotiating skills.
For the past 25 years Mary Lou has spearheaded real estate ventures both domestically and abroad. Most recently selling residential real estate in Charleston, S.C., where she has consistently been the recipient of industry awards, including the 2017 Platinum Realtors of Distinction from the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors. Throughout her career and as an Accredited Buyers’ Representative, she has honed the ability to understand her clients’ wants and needs, convert them to reality, and have fun along the way. A native New Yorker, Mary Lou holds a BS in Accounting from Villanova University. After establishing her career working at Deloitte Haskins and Sells, Salomon Brothers, and Teeman Kinary, Mary Lou met and married her husband, David. Three children followed and Mary Lou took a step away from the corporate world to raise them. While living in Darien, Connecticut for ten years and actively involving herself in the community, Mary Lou was bitten by the real estate bug. She began buying, renovating and selling houses from one side of town to the other.
When Mary Lou’s husband’s job took them to London, England, she continued with her real estate passion by renting, buying, renovating and selling houses in England. Embracing the benefits of foreign living and travel, she involved herself in various schools and charities, including The American School of London and The Kids Kidney Appeal for The Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. Her time in Europe solidified her love for architectural beauty, history, fine food and culture.
Mary Lou is a member of the Historic Charleston Foundation, Preservation Society of Charleston and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. She is on the Worldwide Advisory Board for Casa de Campo Real Estate in the Dominican Republic, is a founding board member of Good Friends of the Lowcountry and is also a supporter of the MUSC CDAP (Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs).
In her spare time, Mary Lou and her husband enjoy playing golf, tennis and shooting. They are members of Kiawah Island Club, Briars Creek and the Stanwich Club.
